Diagnostic Imaging
Our surgeons and physicians use state-of-the-art diagnostic services to review your injury. These imaging options are used for diagnosis, to improve treatment and to monitor healing. Our offices have trained staff ready to assist you with your exam. If you have any questions about an upcoming appointment, please contact us and we’ll connect you with a trained imaging technologist.
X-Ray
Computed Radiography is available at our locations. Advancements in X-ray technology allow for more detailed scans and better portability. If you’ve had scans at another facility recently, please make our office aware. We may ask that you bring in your scans, either on film or on a disc, so we can better assess your injury.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is available at our Exeter office. MRI uses powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed pictures of areas inside your body. These images are used to distinguish normal, healthy soft tissue from diseased tissue. If you’ve had scans at another facility recently, please make our office aware. We may ask that you bring in your scans, either on film or on a disc, so we can better assess your injury.
Orthopaedic Ultrasonography
Did you know that Commonwealth Orthopaedic Associates offers state of the art therapeutic ultrasound-guided procedures? In many cases, the use of ultrasound allows our skilled practitioners to precisely and safely deliver therapies to the affected tissue. During ultrasound-guided injections or aspirations, our practitioners directly visualize the target area which ensures accurate needle placement. Smaller needles may also be used, improving patient comfort.
